Construction Technology
CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY 1 will prepare students with occupational skills in areas of blueprint reading, carpentry, electrical systems, masonry, and plumbing. This incredible opportunity introduces the individual to the construction building trades.
Each year students will research and design both renewable and nonrenewable energy sources including the construction of residential structures. These skills are applicable to a wide range of careers. In addition, safety is key in this industry which is why it is our priority to identify appropriate hand and power tool usage. Upon completing this course, students will also be eligible to earn college credits and/or industry certification including the introduction to apprenticeship opportunities.
CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY 2 is the next step in the construction program. It gives students who have completed Construction Technology 1 a chance to develop more experience in the industry. They will gain project management as well as leadership skills. Second year students will also take a more advanced approach in the trades developing skills needed for a future in the construction industry.
